Archie Artist Mike DeCarlo-- Makes Fans a Part of Riverdale!

Archie Artist Mike DeCarlo -- Makes Fans a Part of Riverdale!

Renowned artist, Mike DeCarlo, has worked as a penciler, artist and inker for Marvel, DC, The Simpsons, Disney, BOOM Studios, Warner Communications AND  Archie.
His best attribute in all of these positions, he'd say, is his ability to draw ANY property in any style, period or genre.
And his fans would agree!
Now: With that in mind, Mike is offering a new custom sketch opportunity at his table, allowing you to now step onto the pages of one of your favorite comic books yourself!
That's right! Have you ever wanted to hob nob with Archie and Jughead? Betty and Veronica?  Stroll down the streets of Riverdale?  Have a custom birthday greeting or wedding invite in that familiar style?
Well, now is your chance!
At his shows in 2018, just talk to Mike at any appearance and you too can be customized as an "Archie" character.

And he's great at the Simpsons too!

Spotlight on: CLINTON T. HOBART

EVA INK is happy to welcome Clint!

Clinton T. Hobart

Clinton T. Hobart is a Fine Artist and Licensed Disney Fine Artist. He creates original oil paintings of a wide variety of subjects ranging from classical subject matter such as fruit and eggshells to more modern subjects such as Mickey Mouse and Doritos. Even his Disney paintings are technically still-lifes, because he works from real objects in front of him. If he cannot find the objects he desires to paint he frequently will build elaborate "Sets" to work from. For his painting of the tower from the Disney movie Tangled he constructed a four foot tall replica of it made out of stone, mortar, cardboard, plaster and wood. The sculpture has since become as popular as the actual painting.

In addition to painting for Disney, Hobart also paints still-lifes, portraits, cosplay paintings, and ocean waves. He has been featured on NBC News, FOX News, The CW, ABC News, and American Artist magazine. He appeared on CBS News with Scott Pelle after a Chinese company sold forged copies of his paintings online. Afterward, the Huffington Post mentioned the story in an article stating that Clinton was part of a “sting operation.” Hobart’s painting “A Portrait of Doritos”  is in the private collection of actor Michael Rooker from Guardians Of The Galaxy and The Walking Dead.

Note that Clint is available for painting demos at your show!

It's a Done Deal for Disney!

I for one think this is pretty exciting news. Below is the blurb from Diamond's current newsletter. (Above, Mickey and Minnie share the news at my Comics and Animation forum in China!)

________

Disney/Marvel Aquisition!

This just in--Marvel Entertainment’s shareholders approved the company's acquisition by The Walt Disney Company on December 31, 2009 as expected. The $4.3 billion acquisition gives Disney control of Marvel’s more than 5,000 characters.

While most of the characters counted in that tally range from obscure to, well, very obscure, a select handful have been the basis for blockbuster movies, cartoons and video games in recent years. Additionally, Disney believes that if they find even a few money-makers among the second, third and fourth tier, the deal could well end up being a steal.
