It should have been articulated. I didn't hear it. I hope you are right. :-)Eva Ink Artist Group / Pros and Cons Celebrity Booking / HappySpacePOPCon.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00860821012687688229noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3859438595124663351.post-9629626677753758712011-06-14T22:08:18.909-07:002011-06-14T22:08:18.909-07:00Kids liked the parts with the flying, and LOVED se...Kids liked the parts with the flying, and LOVED seeing Spider-man. I don't think they focused too much on the story or anything else.

As for adults, I read one review today, that put it in a nutshell (Village Voice), saying that the best you can say after seeing this is that you saw it. It will in no way be one of those theatre experiences that was altering in any way.Eva Ink Artist Group / Pros and Cons Celebrity Booking / HappySpacePOPCon.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00860821012687688229noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3859438595124663351.post-20702157699402107552011-06-14T16:43:14.872-07:002011-06-14T16:43:14.872-07:00I agree with most of your points and some of the c...I agree with most of your points and some of the costumes were pretty godawful - especially the Lizard and Bonecrusher...that was about as cheesy as you could get. I actually did like the costume for Swiss Miss (horrid name, though)...reminded me of a Power Ranger..I'm a big fan of those crazy Japanese costumes, so I guess that's why I liked it...the three black/white villains (Hammerhead, Kingpin and someone else..I guess that's who they were) looked Taymorish, so I accepted them for their ridiculousness.

You mentioned the very opening scene with Arachne and the falling yellow curtains..at that point I had high hopes for what I thought were going to be many interesting and eye popping visuals, but sadly, that was likely the most visually arresting point in the entire show.

The songs overall weren't very good, aside from two or three (I think the best was 'Rise Above'...after seeing the show and then watching a performance of the song on YouTube, it began to stick in my head...the voices were very good..unfortunately, at the performance I saw, Reeve Carney wasn't in it and the understudy performed - although he was actually really good.

As for the Goblin being tied to the piano, I believe Spidey says something to the effect of 'I thought you wouldn't jump once I tied you to the piano' which also presupposes that The Goblin WON'T kill himself...but it did stay true to Spidey not being a killer in the sense that he figured the Goblin would just stay put.

I totally agree about the stupid changing of the Spider-Man origin story with Peter not stopping the thief that winds up killing Uncle Ben. That was included in the first Spider-Man movie, but even worse, in Spider-Man III, they changed that whole concept and made it the Sandman that killed Uncle Ben, which made no sense then either.

It'll be interesting to see how well the show does...the audience I was at seemed to love it...I think for tourists it'll be a fun diversion, but it's certainly not a good or great show by any means. The Keeper's Noteshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06530156015052816794noreply@blogger.com
